GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Submissions for all sections should conform to the following stylistic and formatting specifications:

1)  All articles should be submitted in electronic form, either as a Microsoft Word document or in Rich Text Format (RTF). Please minimise sophisticated typesetting or desktop publishing as this may be lost in the final stage of copy-editing. We have provided a template in RTF format to assist you with formatting your paper appropriately. In particular, the styles feature may be of assistance.

2)  When citing references, the Author-Date referencing system should be used. Instructions can be found in the Chicago Manual of Style. Each reference cited in the main paper should be included in the reference list at the end of the paper.

3)  Begin the reference list on a new page. List only sources used in writing the paper. Entries are arranged alphabetically by author's last name and include complete bibliographic information.

4)  Where relevant, acknowledgements should be provided at the end of the paper. If the paper has formerly been presented at a conference then this should also be acknowledged in this area.

5)  Submissions should contain a brief biographical sketch (100 words max.) containing the author(s) name, affiliation, mailing address, phone, fax and e-mail.

6)  Arrange for a careful proof editing of the paper before submission. If English is not your first language, please attempt to enlist the help of a native English speaker to edit the piece, to correct grammar and ensure that the idiom is correct. This will make it easier for the referees to give full justice to your work.

7)  Submit your paper via e-mail to the editor. Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the journal. Complexity and Education expects that submissions received have not been previously published and are not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere.

All submissions will be peer reviewed by a panel of at least three reviewers. The review process is “semi-blind” in that the reviewers know who the author is, but the author is not normally informed of the names of the reviewers (unless the reviewer specifically requests an open review.
